Facilities

Our school features large play areas for children which are constantly improving.

LARGE
OVAL

Older students have supervised access to a large oval across the road which has football and soccer goals available as well as a concrete cricket pitch. Younger students have a smaller oval with netted soccer goals and a sandpit. There is ample hard play space for basketball, netball and popular school yard games such as four square.

CLASSROOMS

Classrooms are much larger than standard. Each class has a bank of computers accessible to students and there are sets of iPads for “research on the run.”

LOTE
KOREAN

Our LOTE (Korean) classroom focuses on traditional and contemporary Korean culture and students are taught language through activities, conversations and songs. Korean was adopted as our language in 2014 for the first time.

LIBRARY

Our Library is compact but well resourced. It is a welcoming space with a brand new Interactive Panel for whole class, small groups and individual students to access. Each lunchtime the Library offers a variety of activities for students to participate in.

JUNIOR
PRIMARY

Our JP area features an outdoor area with sandpit, decking and planter boxes. This is used during our play-based learning time during which children participate in many activities designed to provide opportunities to develop social skills, oral language, cooperation and problem solving skills.

GYM

We have a large gym with an indoor basketball court, sports equipment and kitchen. This is used during PE lessons, for special events such as school discos, concerts and for assemblies and is opened for students on pre-arranged lunch times.

ALTARAMA

At the rear of the school we have a 100m x 100m remnant bushland area, Altarama that is used during play times and by classes during learning time. This area is currently under focus for re-vegetation and further development to increase the potential for outdoor learning to occur across all curriculum areas. The community is also welcome to utilise the area outside of school hours.

ON-SITE
PRESCHOOL

We have a school-based Preschool on-site. This is managed through the school so please contact the front office for further information. Preschool children have access to school facilities.

Visit the Mallala Preschool website for further information

PLAYGROUP

Playgroup is available for children from babies to school-aged. This is open on Wednesdays from 9am to 11am. There is no cost to parents as the school supports the Playgroup financially and through staffing.
